Fall Term 1976

• The Class of 1980 entered Carleton.

Winter Term 1977

• The Carletonian and the NNB combined to form a daily newspaper, the Carleton Daily.

Spring Term 1977

• Joe Fabeetz was overwhelmingly elected to the CSA Senate in a massive write-in campagin, despite the fact that he did not exist. Carleton garnered national media attention from this event, with a mention on the CBS Morning News.
• The Class of 1977 graduated from Carleton.
• The annual Mayfest party almost didn't happen. The Dean of Students, who recognized binge drinking for what it was, said the event sponsors' application was late. We partied anyways, more rowdy than usual. Dean Jean was burned in effigy.
