Basil's Pizza

Founded by Bill Pitsavas, original owner of Bill's Pizza, served an almost identical menu as its predecessor. It is one of the few businesses on the west side of the Cannon River on Water Street.

Both it and Bill's served Gyros Pizza, which is simply a pizza with gyros meat on top, served with a cup of taziki sauce for dipping. Many Carleton students were inordinately fond of it.

John Pitsavas

Ioannis "John" Pitsavas, owner of Basil's Pizza, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 6, 2007, in Lakeville, the result of an automobile accident. Northfield News
