Concentration
From CarlWiki
A concentration at Carleton is very similar to a minor at many other schools. Concentrations require far fewer courses than a major, typically about half. Concentrations are unique at Carleton in that they are all interdisciplinary. For example, there is no French concentration, only a major. There is, however, a French and Francophone Studies concentration available. Concentrations are often confused with certificates, but are very different. A certificate focuses on only discipline. So, a certificate in French can be completed with courses only in the French department, while a French and Francophone Studies concentration requires courses in art history, economics or history and other related fields.
