Convocation, or convo as it is usually called, is a weekly event at Carleton in which a speaker gives a talk in the Skinner Chapel during a special time block on Friday, from 10:50 to 11:50. A wide variety of speakers appear, often nominated by students. All speakers are recorded, and the audio is posted to Carleton's website. [1]
A special Honors Convocation is held on the last Friday of Spring Term to recognize exemplary faculty and students.
Notable Convocation Speakers
- Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, spoke during Winter Term 2006.
- Barrie Osborne '66 spoke during Spring Term 2004.
