Crackhouse
From CarlWiki
Crackhouse is the name affectionately given to 208/210 E 2nd st., a residence occupied by Carleton students since at least 1982. The name refers not to any historical use by house residents for drug dealing, but supposedly to an alleged crack running through the foundation of the structure. Crackhouse is not owned by the College, but is a rental property owned (along with dozens of other Northfield residencies) by landlord LaVern Rippley, a professor of German and History at cross-town rival St. Olaf. It is usually rented by students on Northfield Option. It is divided into 208 2nd st. (Lower Crack) and 210 2nd st. (Upper Crack).
