Fall Term 1969
- The Class of 1973 entered Carleton.
- The Third Burton Insurrection occurs, wherein 10 female students attempted to force the issue of creating co-educational dorms by moving into a lounge on third Burton. Threatened with sanctions, the women eventually returned to their assigned dorms.
Winter Term 1970
- On February 14, 1970 (Valentine's Day!), Carleton's dorms officially became coed by floor, as eight floors in six dorms swapped in a college-sanctioned experiment, moving some 360 students.
Spring Term 1970
- The Class of 1970 graduated from Carleton.
