Jim Shuman '67

Jim Shuman, Class of 1967, is Associate Professor of Education and Chair of the Department of Education at St. Lawrence University.
He was an Astronomy major at Carleton and was well-known as a performer on the basketball court (conference championship in 1966), the Rotblatt field, and the stage. (He was one of the original members of a comedy troop organized by Paul Menzel '69.)
In the 1960s and '70s he worked at the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia.
Shuman earned M.S. and Ed. D. degrees from West Virginia University. He is currently the co-editor of the Journal for the Practical Application of Constructivist Theory in Education.
He and his wife were ordained as interfaith ministers in 2000 through the New Seminary in New York City.
