Just Food

Just Food, often just called the co-op, is a grocery store and co-op formed in 2004. It is located on 516 Water St. South, near Division Street, only a block away from Econofoods. Although it is smaller and has less selection than either Econo or Cub Foods, it is popular among Carleton students, especially those on only a minimal meal plan, for its emphasis on organic foods.

Some students choose to purchase membership at the co-op, though this is not required to purchase goods there. Membership costs a one-time payment of $125, in exchange for which you receive shares in the store and may participate in meetings to make business decisions for the store. Members also receive discounts on select items.

In 2005, the co-op began a nearby extension called the Northfield Community Mercantile, which sells arts and crafts.
