Mary Savina, a Geology professor, lectures at one of the discussion panels.
The Hurricane Katrina Symposium was an all-day event occurring on Friday, March 31, 2006, the first Friday of Spring Term 2006. All classes were cancelled for the day, something unprecedented in Carleton's recent history. The theme of the event was "Confronting Katrina: How Should We Respond?" It consisted of a series of discussions and panels that students and other members of the Carleton community could choose to attend.
