LGBT

LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual) is a term used to refer to various alternative sexualities at Carleton, particularly in official support programs. The expanded term LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Questioning and Allies) is also sometimes used.
Carleton is consistently rated by The Princeton Review as one of the most gay-friendly colleges in America. It has an active LGBT community, an official office (the Gender and Sexuality Center), and Q&A House, a place for those who wish to live in an environment that may be more supportive of their sexuality. Anti-gay sentiments are rarely expressed at Carleton, and at least one president of the Carleton Student Association has been openly gay.
