Language requirement
From CarlWiki
The language requirement is the policy that all students must be proficient in a foreign language as a condition of their graduation.
Fulfilling the Language Requirement
In order to fulfil the language requirement, students must either pass with a C- or better (S if the class is S/CR/NCed) a fourth-level language class (fifth level for Chinese and Japanese) or prove their proficiency by taking an exam.
Students with documented language learning disability may be granted an exemption by petitioning to the Academic Standing Committee. Students who wish to be considered for exemption should contact the office of the Dean of Students.
