Northfield Metro Express
Beginning in August 2009, charter bus company, Northfield Lines started Northfield Metro Express bus service between Northfield and the Twin Cities.
The service is offered seven days a week with stops at Carleton, St. Olaf, downtown Northfield, MSP International Airport, the University of Minnesota, two locations in downtown Minneapolis, four in St. Paul, the Mall of America, a stop in Richfield, and one in Burnsville.
The buses are equipped with bike racks, restrooms, seat back tray tables, individual climate and lighting controls and free Wi-Fi.
Tickets and yearly passes are available at the Northfield Lines web site. Round trip tickets in October 2009 cost $10.00.
After the first month of operation, Northfield Lines officials were surprised that over a third of the tickets were sold to commuters coming from the Twin Cities to Northfield. Presville blog
