Prof

Prof (rhymes with "cough") is shorthand for "professor." At Carleton, it is used very commonly by students as a neutral term. It can be used either as a noun ("I was talking to my Religion prof today...") or, less frequently, as an informal title ("Prof Smith might not be the best professor at Carleton, but...").

"Prof" should not be confused with the written abbreviated title "Prof.", which, when read, is pronounced "Professor."
