Quad
From CarlWiki
A quad is a dorm room that houses four students. There are only a handful of quads on campus.
"Quad" is also a term used at colleges and universities to indicate a square or rectangular-shaped courtyard with three or four buildings along the sides. Carleton (arguably) has two quads: a west side quad with The Complex, Willis Hall, and Scoville Hall along its boundaries; and an east side quad, with the Language and Dining Center, Myers Hall, and Nourse Hall along its boundaries. However, Carleton students do not use the word "quad" to refer to these places. Instead, they often refer to them as the "Bald Spot" and "Mini Bald Spot", respectively.
