Carleton's Snack Bar, located in Sayles-Hill, provides convenient food options and more flexible hours than the two dining halls. It features a wide selection of beverages, pastries, cookies, and sandwiches, as well as a made-to-order grill. Students, faculty, and staff who use flex dollars to make food purchases receive a discount. Flex dollars come with several of the meal plans, or they can be purchased.

Once upon a time, the Snack Bar was called "Conspicuous Consumption," a phrase coined by Thorstein Veblen. Currently, all of its signs simply say "Snack Bar," or sometimes "The Snack Bar."

Once upon an "ancient" time, the Snack Bar was located in the northwest corner of First Willis and was best known for offering quality ice cream.

The snack bar is known far and wide for its amazing large chocolate-chip cookies. Every Carleton student, at some point or another, has tried one of these excellent cookies.
