Spring Break

Spring Break' is a vacation of roughly two weeks in March separating Winter Term and Spring Term. It extends from Finals of Winter Term, which normally end on a Monday, until the first Monday that is more than one week later.

Staying on campus

Students who choose to stay on campus must stay in Watson Hall during the break. As a result of this, residents of Watson who do not stay during Spring Break may be asked or, if necessary, required to allow others to stay in their room during their absence.

There is little activity on campus during the break, although, as during all breaks, basic services stay open: The Post Office, Library, CMC, and Rec Center, as well as many college offices, stay open during limited hours.

Weather

The weather during Spring Break varies widely. It can be hot, as the "Spring" in its name would suggest. However, it can also be intensely cold and snowy. Indeed, it is common for more snow to be received per day than during colder time periods, such as Winter Break. During the Spring Break of 2005, all college services and offices were closed for a time due to a blizzard.
