Excellent

This is an excellent start for an article. Thank you very much, Chris. I hope that it will be expanded with a picture or two, some cited references, and some fun facts, at which point it will be worthy of becoming a Featured Article. --Trevor Burnham '07 19:19, 26 April 2006 (PDT)

  • You're welcome--it's amazing how easily you can get this information on a quick Google search. I haven't done cited references before (I know I saw a discussion of how to do it here somewhere, but haven't had the chance to review that). I should be able to re-arrange it with citations fairly easily. Regarding pictures: I did find a few pictures of Swearer online, but I'm concerned that nicking them and putting them here would be in violation of copyright. What sources are okay to use when using pictures? Chris Johnson '96 06:41, 27 April 2006 (PDT)
  • Anything from The Carletonian prior to 1977 without a copyright notice in the issue (most don't have any) is in the public domain. That's what I used for the short article on Donald Cowling, which also shows how to use the (rather nifty) cite feature. (You can find a link to the Carletonian archives from its article.) I'm trying to get closer cooperation from both the 'Tonian and the college as far as use of copyrighted material goes, but right now, I can't offer you anything. I'll add more detail to the CarlWiki:Copyright policy article on useful sources for such material in the future; you might want to add it to your watch list. --Trevor Burnham '07 11:53, 27 April 2006 (PDT)
