Faculty or staff?

I've moved Oden from Category:Active faculty to Category:Active staff, but I could be wrong. When I think of "faculty," I think of professors and perhaps a few assistants without full professor status. Are college presidents considered to be a part of the faculty? --Trevor Burnham '07 00:38, 16 Apr 2005 (PDT)

Faculty come in various ranks: Lecturer, Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Professor. Faculty may also have Adjunct or Visiting status at any of those levels. At Carleton all faculty teach courses, but that's not true everywhere. At some institutions, faculty may also be researchers.

Facutly might also be administrators, Robert Oden is Professor of Religion and President of the College. Likewise, Shelby Boardman is Dean of the College and Charles L. Denison Professor of Geology. His colleague, Elizabeth Ciner, is Associate Dean of the College and Senior Lecturer in English.
