The Carl (sometimes just called Carl) is an arts and culture supplement that is included in the weekly student newspaper, The Carletonian, during 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th weeks. First published in September of 1999, it includes reviews of new movies, music, and books, as well as humorous pieces written by students on its staff. The name plays on the fact that The Carletonian is often referred to colloquially as The Tonian, thus Carl "completes" the paper.
