Transit to and from Carleton
From CarlWiki
Transit to and from Carleton is accomplished by students in different ways, but typically by either flying or driving.
Flying to Carleton
The nearest airport is Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), located about an hour north of Northfield. At the beginning and end of each term, Campus Activities operates a airport shuttle to and from the airport at a fee of $15 each way. The weekend Co-Op Bus also makes a stop at the airport, with a round-trip fee of $20 ($10 each way). For other times, private services such as Care Tenders, EcoTrans and taxi services may be necessary.
Driving to Carleton
Driving to Carleton is a popular option, whether students drive themselves or are driven by parents. (Students who meet certain conditions, such as living over 400 miles away, may be granted a dead storage parking permit by the Security Office under Carleton's Motor Vehicle Policy.)
When driving from the North or South, the most common route is to take I-35 and get off on Exit 69 (exit), taking Highway 19 towards Northfield. When Highway 19 intersects with Highway 3 (there are a Subway and a Walgreens at this intersection), take a left. Turn right on Second Street and go up the hill towards Carleton College. If you are traveling towards the Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office, Business Office or Sayles-Hill, turn left onto College Street and follow the signs.
