Great Space is a large room, formerly a basketball court, located in Sayles-Hill to the right of the front entrance. It includes the Snack Bar, the only on-campus dining facility other than the dining halls, where flex dollars can be spent. (Both the Snack Bar and the dining halls are owned by Sodexho.) The upper level includes a small arcade and pool tables, as well as a new computer lab, the Sayles Lab. Above the Snack Bar, there is a very large TV, and the meeting rooms that comprise Upper Sayles.

Most importantly, Great Space is a large meeting area where people sit at tables, consume Snack Bar food, and converse or read student publications. Tables are often set up to advertise events, organizations, internships and jobs, a practice referred to as "tabling." For instance, CSA elections are always advertised by a table in Great Space where senators encourage people to vote. Events, such as dances and the International Festival, are also held here.

Freshmen frequently confuse Great Space with Great Hall, a large ball room located in Severance Hall.
